Dear Mr/Ms/Mrs HR Recruitment Coordinator:

Hello. Your position on the website caught my attention with much enthusiasm. A position of this nature has been desired by me for many of the years that I was in college, and now I"m confident my professional experiences will have been put to good use for my qualifications as well. My skill sets are:

  • taskable
  • easily works alone or in groups
  • computers
  • trustworthy
  • proactivation

Also I am a hard worker and believe that it is only through setting one's nose to the grindstone that one can catch a falling star. As it has been my dream to work in a position of this nature, I look forward to a meeting in the near future where I can further convince you of my desirability.

Sincerely,

Me

I saw Method Man, and he was really tall

So this weekend was chock full of event. On Friday night, a bunch of work peeps went to see our coworker Dan play bass with a band at Kenny's Castaways. First of call, Kenny's Castaways is hella cool. Second of all, they aren't stingy with the scotch. Hooray! Merriment all around.

Then on Saturday I went to Montclair State U. for the first time with the roller girls to promote at the Method Man concert. Our table was next to the backstage area, so we got to see Method Man walk by on his way to the stage. He is a full foot taller than his bodyguard. He told the crowd that the security wasn't to protect him from them, it was to protect them from him. Then he did a bunch of Wu Tang Clan stuff, even though that was like 10 years ago, hello.

Then today I went to Chelsea Market for the first time ever. It is pretty awesome, I must say.

That is all.

i can has tailbone protekshun?

Yes, I can. I ordered my Azzpadz (their trademarked name) today. This is because our next bout against the Jersey Shore Roller Girls is going to be on polished concrete.

Call me vain, but I like my ass, and I want to keep it in one piece. As an added plus, I now have ass protection if I ever decide to try snowboarding.

The New York Post Office

On 31st and 8th Ave totally sucks. I spent an hour and a half of quality time there, and I can say this with complete confidence. It doesn't look like it would suck so hard - when I got there the line wasn't long at all. I had to send some work stuff certified mail, and the first guy at the window told me to go back and change some stuff and then come back to his window. I did, and as soon as he was done with his customer he shut his window. I waited in line for 20 minutes, was told I was at the wrong window, was told to wait at another window, and was then told to get back in line. Meanwhile they have postal agents canvassing the lines demanding to know what people are doing and then demanding that they do it via the automated systems (a valid point, but don't tell me what to do, thanks) and they had no useful signage whatsoever. I was grateful to get out. Stupid post office.

Today I didn't get up early to swim because I was sore and tired from yesterday (and I did have 3 days in a row of working out) but now I kind of wish I had anyway. Maybe tonight I'll run or something. I'm having a fat day and arguing with my clothes. (Look more better!)

1. Swimming still rules. 10 laps today.

2. Downloaded Exile on Main Street and Some Girls this weekend. So far Some Girls wins hands down.

Running

3pennyjane has inspired me. Today I started the Couch Potato to 5k program -1 minute running, 1.5 minutes walking, repeat as necessary. Yay! I slept through the many, many spinning classes I could have gone to today. If I hadn't gone work-bowling last night I could have gotten home and to bed early, and would have most likely gotten up for the classes. I also wouldn't have eaten fish and chips and a variety of deep-fried appetizers. BOWLING IS BAD. It was fun tho'.

ANYway, why won't someone do something about how fat I am? I'm off to get some salad and a turkey sammich.

Mo' svimmin'

Today I did 8 laps. Wooooooo! I took breaks in between them. And some pushups, and then I was all, 'I should take a spinning class' and then after that I was all, 'Nah, I should go home.' So I did.

Why don't you check your DONKEY DOOR, BOOGER BREATH?

I got a swim cap. It's so stylish, I'm just going to wear it all the time.

Svimmin'

I want to learn to surf this summer. One prerequisite is that I have to be able to swim. I don't mean to say that I can't swim, cuz I can, I'm not aquaphobic or nothin', but I can't swim for very long.

So, this morning I got up early and went to the pool at my gym for the first time ever. It was intimidating. Seeing myself in a bathing suit was kind of a wakeup call. But, I did it - six whole laps! Um, swimming is hard. I'm going back tomorrow. But I have to get a swimming cap. Nyerh!
